Cooking with Kids: Frozen Inspired Cereal Treats

Do your kids love Frozen as much as mine do?  If so you should make these fun and easy Frozen Inspired Cereal Treats together.  I love to bake and enjoy sharing my passion with my kids.  Follow along for instructions on creating snowflake shaped Frozen inspired cereal treats.

To make these treats we used the basic Rice Krispies Treat recipe that can be found here – the only modification was that we used Frozen cereal instead of Rice Krispies.

Prior to starting we gathered our ingredients and greased our pan with Crisco.  Once we got started the kids helped to stir as we melted the butter and marshmallows and added in the cereal.  (Exercise caution when having young children help with a hot stove top).  I had to help get the cereal all mixed in as it became to hard for them to stir.

We spread our cereal mix into a pre-greased pan and left to cool and harden.  Once the treats were cool I used a snowflake cookie cutter (you have to press very hard) and cut out some snowflakes to continue the Frozen theme.  You could also just cut into squares and serve.

My kids were happy to help and thrilled to eat their snowflake shaped Frozen inspired cereal treats.
