Dinner Movie Picnic
A dinner movie picnic you ask??? Why yes – sometimes the things that are the most fun are free!! The first time I did this Hubby was on a visit to El Salvador to see his family. I decided that we needed something fun to do that didn’t require me taking the kids out by myself (Buddy was 16 months at the time and Boo Boo was almost 3). We have an ample selection of Disney movies so I thought lets have a picnic in the living room and watch a movie!
We eat all of our meals at the table so this was such a novel idea to the kids – such fun! I got their blankets out and spread them on the floor and made a bunch of finger foods. The kids sat right down and happily ate dinner and watched a movie. Our first dinner was watched with Toy Story (Buddy’s favorite movie).
The kids ask for dinner picnics now but we don’t do it very often. Its a treat for them and happens probably around six times a year – if we did it more frequently it wouldn’t be nearly as much fun! We had one a few nights ago and watched Cars. As you can see the setup is almost exactly the same – down to the same blankets on the floor!
