How to Plan a Mouse-tastic #DisneyKids Playdate

I LOVE Disney!  Do I need to say it again?!?  I’m pretty sure I don’t as I think most readers here are well aware of my slight (ok major) fondness of pretty much all things Disney.  We were in the planning process for our upcoming trip and I was so excited back in February when I got the following email:

We eagerly anticipated our box and it couldn’t have been better timing as it actually showed up on my daughters birthday!  Talk about some added magic!  Watch our unboxing video below to see what was included in our playdate kit package.  My daughter can’t wait to take her new Sophia the First suitcase with us on our vacation to Disney World later this month!

#DisneyKids Playdate Package Contents

Planning your Playdate

  1. Pick a party theme – I went with traditional Mickey & Friends – it tied in perfectly with our upcoming Disney vacation.
  2. Pick a date and time – I picked a morning during our school’s spring vacation.  With younger kids mornings are usually best as they are less likely to be napping at that time.
  3. Pick a location – I decided to host my playdate at our local Chick-fil-A.  Less work on my side – no rushing to get the house perfectly clean while trying to set up decorations and party games.  The kids loved being able to play in the playground after and it was a perfect place to setup the hidden Mickey game.
  4. Plan the party decor – this was easy for me as my playdate kit contained traditional Mickey & Friends items – I went out and bought a few more things (these Mickey ear party hats, these Minnie ear headbands, and this photo kit) and scavenged the house for stuffed Mickey & Minnie’s.
  5. Plan out games and activities – Our playdate kit contained some awesome games!  Since we were in a restaurant I set up multiple stations at various tables that the kids could travel between.  I set up Disney Parks Magic Match (basically Memory – if you have a Disney themed memory game you could use that), Fab Fortune Tellers, a Hidden Mickey Hunt, a make your own Sorcerer’s hat station, and a big coloring station.
  6. Plan your menu.  Since this party was in the morning I kept my menu really simple.  I ordered a Chick-N-Mini tray and a gallon of lemonade from Chick-fil-A and then made super fun Mickey Rice Krispie Treats and Pixie Dust Popcorn.  I also brought little bottles of water (see below for the cute bottle wraps I made) and awesome Disney themed AquaBalls!
  7. Plan what will be in your goodie bags.  Our party happened the Tuesday after Easter so I did some serious clearance shopping!  I found fun Disney themed pencils, eggs shaped like characters, ring pops and some other candy and viola – gift bags complete.
  8. Prepare food.  For this party I made this easy on myself as I only made a few items.  See below to find out how to make your own Mickey Rice Krispie Treats and Pixie Dust Popcorn.
  9. Setup for your playdate.  This was the biggest challenge for me – our party started at 9 so I had to be out of the house before 8 with both kids and with all of my prep work complete!  We made it and thanks to the wonderful Chick-fil-A staff who helped me with some of the setup we had everything party ready!
  10. Have fun!!!

I loved how the stations at the party flowed, it was great to have everything close together but still allow the kids to do things on their own instead of trying to do large group activities.  Everyone had fun and said they can’t wait for our next fun themed party!

#DisneyKids Playdate Water Bottle Wrappers

We always have mini water bottles at our parties.  I love to make them festive instead of drab.  For this party since the current theme at Walt Disney World is “The Magic is Endless” and that was the verbiage on our party packs I decided to find an image to match.  I did a quick google search and found one I loved and made that my water bottle label.  Download your own copy (these are for personal use only) below.  The first page of the download is to show you spacing and provide lines if you want to use them – the second is the same but without lines (I print the ones without lines for my bottles as I don’t like the lines to be visible).
