So my original email saying that I was selected to host a Disney Side @Home Celebration came on January 7th.  I was so excited and absolutely couldn’t deny that I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of my Hostess Kit.  After looking on the Disney Side @Home Celebration Facebook page I learned that you could sign up for UPS MyChoice to find out when packages will be delivered to your house (any package via UPS – not just this one).  Well – I immediately went on and signed up – I mean – who wouldn’t???  My husband can attest to the fact that I’m not the most patient person so I wanted to know as soon as I could when it was going to arrive.

I was very excited to see in the delivery schedule a delivery from BSM (the wonderful company who coordinated  the delivery of the packages).  The original delivery date was a little more than a week before I actually received the package (the 14th or 15th I think).  But the date came and went without a package.  After looking at the Facebook group again I see that this in fact common, as soon as BSM creates the pickup label it enters the UPS system and automates a delivery date, but as of my original delivery date the package was still not picked up.  So I sadly continued my wait – I’m very thankful for this opportunity but I felt like a kid waiting on Christmas morning without any presents.

On January 19th I logged into UPS to check and see if there was updated information and there was!!!  I got so excited – my box was scheduled to arrive on Thursday the 23rd! I planned a special Disney themed dinner with our new Mickey waffle maker that I purchased to make waffles for our party.  I was so excited that somehow Wednesday morphed into Thursday in my head.  I made our special dinner, we ate, and I sat waiting wondering why the UPS man hadn’t come.  I whined for the 10th to my husband and he said “I thought you said the box was coming on Thursday” – I looked at him like he had 10 heads and said “what do you mean – it is Thursday.”  He shook his head, I realized he was right and I continued waiting.  But I must say our dinner was really yummy!

Thursdays are busy afternoons for us.  I pick Boo Boo up from school, drive her to speech therapy, run home and make dinner.  I was prepping dinner before leaving to get Boo and Boo and much to my surprise hear the UPS truck pull into the driveway!  I was super excited but had to leave the box until after dinner.

Buddy checked the box out before we left to pick up Boo Boo and I told him after dinner.  Again when we came in Boo Boo wanted to know what that was!  Buddy said that says Disney on it (he can’t read – so he must have recognized the font)!  We ate and immediately I got the box and carried it into the dining room.  After much waiting – here it is!

The kids started unpacking like crazy so I had to stop taking pictures to ensure nothing got broken or ripped – and to be honest – I wanted to help unpack too!!  Here are some after shots of all the goodies packed into the box.

Our box had so much in it – it was so exciting!  Its perfect for our party since I am planning a Mickey & Minnie themed Valentine’s day brunch.  I can’t wait for our party but I am excited to really get the planning in full swing.

Many thanks to the sponsors for the Disney Side @Home Celebration!
