Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

On our last visit to Disney World, Boo Boo got to enjoy what every little girl dreams of – becoming a Princess!  We went to Disney World in September and planned to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP).  I decided to make a reservation for Boo Boo to visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique earlier in the day on the night of our planned party.

Things to know about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique:

  •  Make reservations early! (180 days before your scheduled date to get preferred times – especially for Magic Kingdom)
  • There are two locations – Downtown Disney (Disney Springs) or Magic Kingdom
  • You need a valid theme park ticket (for the Magic Kingdom Boutique)
  • Plan to wait!!! (We waited over an hour past our scheduled time)
  • Walk up’s are nearly impossible – especially on MNSSHP date’s
  • You can bring your own dress (which saves money!)

Planning Ahead

Each year my mother makes all of her grandchildren’s Halloween costumes.  This year Boo Boo selected Belle from Beauty and the Beast.  Since we knew we were headed to Florida for the Halloween Party my mom finished the kids costumes to bring with us.  Since we were bringing our own costume we selected the Crown Package which included:

  • Hairstyling
  • Shimmering make-up, face gem
  • Princess sash and tote
  • Nail polish

We saved roughly $150 from the package you can pick with the full costume and honestly I think the quality of her homemade dress was much higher.

Visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique’s website to see all of the package options and find the phone number to make reservations.  To see the brochure check out Disneyways blog on the Bibbidi Boddidi Boutique.

Arrival

You are advised to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.  We did and they got Boo Boo right in and into a changing room to put on her dress.  Then the waiting started.  It was raining the night we were there – by raining I mean down-pouring.  There were at least 20-30 people crammed into the waiting room and it seemed they all had earlier appointments than us.  We sat – we waited – we watched – we waited – and finally – at least an hour after our scheduled appointment – Boo Boo got called!!

The Makeover

Boo Boo’s fairy godmother escorted us to her station and the magic began!

They started by asking Boo Boo to choose the style she wanted for her makeover.  Once she picked they whirled into action!!  One fairy godmother started on Boo Boo’s hair while the other started on her nails and makeup.

As you can see in some of the pictures Boo Boo wasn’t that fond of getting her hair done.  This was her first experience with wearing makeup so that was new for her.  The fairy godmothers were great and really made her feel as comfortable as possible.  The makeover took around 45 minutes probably,  Boo Boo has long hair and it took the stylist a while to fix and the hairpiece in the style that Boo Boo selected wasn’t very cooperative as well.

The Reveal

The magical finishing touch was when the fairy godmother sprinkled Boo Boo with pixie dust.  Be ready to find glitter everywhere!!  After the pixie dust your princess is revealed to you!

Boo Boo was so happy with her makeover – she wore her hair just like they did it for 3 days I think because she didn’t want us to take it down!

Overall Experience

Boo Boo enjoyed the experience – who doesn’t love being pampered?  It was fun for the whole family to watch the princess transformation.  The only negative to the whole experience was the wait time from our scheduled appointment.  If we go back to Disney while Boo Boo is still in love with princesses I would definitely take her again.  It was a magical experience!
