Cute Sesame Street Themed Birthday Party
When my daughter turned two we went all out and had a super fun Sesame Street themed birthday party. The hero of the party was her favorite character – Elmo! I’ve got to say that it was one of the easiest parties to plan as Elmo is a fan favorite and you can find lots of Elmo merchandise. Read on to see what I think are the five most important elements to host a fun Sesame Street themed birthday party!
-
Decor – from balloons to tablecloths to birthday banners – its easy to find store bought or make your own.
-
Themed cake – I think this is the most important for the birthday child (at least in my house).
-
Party games – depending on the age of your children party games can make or break a party – definitely don’t forget a pinãta!
-
Themed foods – this helps to make the party fun. Attention to detail makes the theme carry throughout the whole party.
-
Invitations and thank you notes.
***These five elements are important for any themed party***
Most years I try to make a lot of my own items for birthday parties to save some money. To save time for this party (I had a two year old and a 6 month old at the time) I bought a lot of items for the party as well. I always make the cake and sometimes make decorations as well. This cake took a while to make but the way my daughters face lit up when she saw it completed made it all worth while!
The one special thing I did (besides the cake) for my daughters party was make her a birthday dress – I found the fabric at JoAnn’s at used a pattern I had bought previously.
