Mt. Washington Auto Road

We leave tomorrow for our weekend away!  The weather isn’t looking great- it went from fabulous – to not great – to now so so.  Fingers crossed the weather will cooperate and that we will get to enjoy our drive up Mt. Washington Auto Road without any rain!

I went up Mt. Washington as a kid myself so I have an idea of what is in store.  The rest of the family will be experiencing it for the first time.  We will start our journey at the Auto Road/Great Glen Base Lodge where we will check in and get additional information about the offerings for both Mt. Washington and the Great Glen Trails.  We will be focused on the Auto Road for this trip but I’m sure the information about Great Glen Trails will come in handy in the future.

On the summit we are looking forward to visiting the Mt. Washington Observatory with its newest exhibit Extreme Mount Washington.
